Westin Cupples Station
Cupples Station at Spruce and 8th Street
St. Louis, MO 63102

A grouping of vacant turn-of-the century warehouses connected through existing bridges and walkways were converted into a distinctive Four-Star Luxury Hotel. The Lobby is a juxtaposition of contemporary details with natural elements of stone and wood that give a hint of the history behind the buildings. Due to the buildings’ designation on the National Historic Register of Historic Places, the design process necessitated considerable input and review from the National Park Service. Creating a contemporary, elegant interior while adhering to strict, historic guidelines proved to be quite challenging. The generous widths of the Corridors were dictated by existing column spacing allowing for larger Guestrooms (550 sf), as well as a unique undulating wall element along one side of the corridor. The large, oversized Guestrooms are small in comparison to the generous, luxurious Presidential Suite, featuring a five-fixture bath and custom pool table. The Public Area consists of a Conference Center , Lobby and Exercise Facility. An extensive art program curated by Anderson/Miller, Ltd., promotes local and Missouri-based artists.
