Rooted in Grand Rapids’ identity as Furniture City and the birthplace of American mid-century design, Canopy by Hilton Grand Rapids blends history and innovation into an inviting hospitality experience. Anderson|Miller drew from the city’s design legacy to incorporate breeze blocks, terrazzo, slatted wood, and iconic furnishings, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens.

The project includes 155 guestrooms, meeting space, a rooftop bar, and a dramatic double-height Canopy Central lounge. Materiality and scale play a leading role — warm tones, textured finishes, and architectural rhythm create a sense of place that feels both grounded and modern. Custom light fixtures, terrazzo reception desks, and a layered art program reflect local stories and Michigan’s creative heritage.

Throughout the hotel, interiors reflect a spirit of openness and discovery. From curated furnishings to integrated graphics, every detail reinforces a hospitality experience that is rich in character, rooted in context, and designed to last.

Anderson|Miller is an interior, architecture, and design studio, partnering with clients to transform ideas into meaningful spaces. Every project is defined by thoughtful collaboration, precise execution, and an unwavering attention to detail.
